Hosta Americana will form a mound of about 15"-20" in height with a spread of 24", at maturity. It is an excellent medium sized Hosta with heart shaped, thick, slightly twisted leaves with a dark green margin with medium green streaks into the white leaf centre. Plants have thick waxy leaves giving great slug resistance. A sport of Hosta Loyalist but with a wider green margin. The thick leaves display deep green jetting margins and a nearly, pure white, narrow centre. A difficult plant to propagate and is quite rare. A great addition to any Hosta collection. Non scented pale lavender flowers appear on short scapes of about 30" during June & July. Slug resistant and sun tolerant as well.
