Hosta Captin Kirk forms a medium to large mound at maturity of 20"-24" in height and 24"-36" in width. It is an impressive, eyecatching Hosta, of rapid growth rate, Hosta 'Captain Kirk'  forms an overlapping mound of widely oval, slightly arching, dimpled and strongly veined leaves. Broadly margined bright green, the leaves emerge chartreuse before turning golden yellow then ivory. One of many Star Trek varieties. Pale lavender flowers appear on 30" scapes in July & August. An improved version of Hosta Gold Standard with much wider, dark green, margins, gold centres & thicker leaves. Slug resistant and very sun tolerant. This is one variety that I would like to be without.
