Hosta Golden Empress has heart- shaped gold, ribbed, leaves with a slight wave on the edges. It forms a small to medium mound of 10"-12" in height and 18"-20" in width at maturity. It has symmetrical, dense, mound of yellow leaves, sporting lavender bloomson 24" scapes above the mound in July to August. This fast growing Bob Kuk hybrid makes a great edging plant with heart-shaped golden leaves. Although one of the later varieties to emerge in spring, it has bright yellow foliage, turning chartreuse by summer. It looks very similar to Hosta Birchwood Parky'y Gold or Paradise Goldheart. This fast growing Hosta is not sun tolerant or slug resistant.
