Amongst the most important Hostas ever introduced, Hosta Golden Tiara forms a small compact mound of 12"-15" in height and 25"-30" width at maturity. Broadly oval to heart-shaped, mid-green leaves, up to 5" long, irregularly margined chartreuse. Over time, the the narrow cream margins change to golden yellow, before fading to cream. Profuse, deep lavender blooms appear in summer, rising on 26" long scapes. Golden Tiara reportedly has better tolerance to dry soils than most other Hostas. Sturdy, vigorous and will grow happily in most gardens without any attention. Will usually get slug attacks towards the end of the season, butd is quite sun tolerant. A superbly strong grower that can handle virtually anything. Great for beginners.
