Hosta 'Grand Marquee' is a medium sized plant 12"-16" tall with spread of 28"-36" at maturity. A Hosta with thick blue leaves that are highlighted with a dramatic golden centre in spring, which turns creamy white as the season progresses. Has a medium to slow growth rate. By late summer the leaves become more blue-green and the centre is more cream. Was registered as a sport of 'Carder Blue' but this can't be correct as the leaf and flower characteristics point it more towards 'Halcyon'. Very similar to 'Touch of Class'. Lavender flowers on 30" scapes, in mid-summer. I grow this because the beautiful contrast of blue and gold stands out in the garden. Slug resistant with waxy leaves and sun tolerant.
