Hosta Blue Dolphin will form a large mound of 70 - 80 cm in height with a spread of up to 125 cm at maturity. Hosta Blue Dolphin is a seedling of Hosta Sea Mermaid introduced by Maine's Hosta breeder Rick Sawyer. Leaves are heavily corrugated blue-green and are slightly cupped, with heavily impressed veins. The almost round thick leaves have an upright growth habit but the leaves are generally held out flat. The blue-green colour is especially noticeable in low light. Near white flowers appear on extra long scapes of 110 cm in June & July. This Hosta  is slug resistant.
