Hosta Proud Sentry forms a medium-sized mound reaching 36cm-45cm in height, with a spread of up to 75cm at maturity. It features arching green leaves with a rippled margin that changes from yellow to creamy white as the season progresses. The plant has an erect, fountain-shaped clump with elongated medium green leaves that have yellow margins. Each leaf is held up and out, revealing red areas under the foliage. The edges of the leaves are slightly wavy. The leaf stem is speckled red. It is a vigorous grower with durable leaves and pale purple flowers on purple-red scapes up to 90cm tall in July. It is believed to be both sun-tolerant and resistant to slugs.
