Hosta Samurai will form a large mound of some 18"-26" in height, with a spread of up to 36", at maturity. It has huge, corrugated, thick blue green leaves with irregular yellow to chartreuse margins. Makes a stunning feature plant. Its attractive textured, heart-shaped, leaves remain bluish-green in colour with a showy variegation, right through the season. It is an improved version of Frances Williams, but with a wider gold margin. The foliage tends to stay dense, right to the ground. It grows at a medium rate. It has dainty spikes of white tubular flowers, rising well above the foliage, on 40" scapes, in late summer. Not known to burn or scorch in the sun and pretty good with slug resistance.
