Hosta Summer Serenade forms a large mound of 24"-28" in height with a spread of up to 66" at maturity. This is a sport of Hosta Piedmont Gold, and forms a beautiful large mound of gold foliage with wide green margins. Gold leaves have a wide green margin that often jets towards the midrib giving the pattern a feathery look. Leaves become nicely corrugated with age. Perfect as a specimen plant that will demand attention in the hosta garden. One of those must have hostas! Near white flowers are held on scapes of 36" tall, in early summer. This variety needs to be in dappled shade away from the sun, and does not fend well against slugs.
