Hosta Tom Schmid will form an elegant, large, vase-shaped clump of about 32"-36" in height, with a spread of up to 40", at maturity. It is an elegant giant with long blue leaves. It's margins are thin and white. Ovate leaves with moderately prominent veins, lightly wavy, slightly corrugated, centre emerges silvery blue changing to dark green by mid-summer with pure white margins. Hosta Tom Schmid is a white edged sport of Krossa Regal. It differs from the parent in having a straight, rather than wavy, leaf edge. The leaves are held upright on longish petioles. Fairly slow to start of with, but in time makes a magnificent plant, in a container or in the ground. Tall lavender flowers on scapes of up to 60" tall, in July through to August. As with Krossa Regal it is slug resistant & sun tolerant. RHS Award Of Garden Merit.
