Hosta Tongue of Flame will form a medium sized mound of about 15"-18" in height, and a spread of up to 32", at maturity. It makes a somewhat upright mound, of narrowly ovate, creamy yellow to white flamed centred, green margined foliage of average substance. The white centres hold up well throughout the summer but I would always avoid the strong midday sun. Average speed grower. Purple blooms with pink bracts, set on tall red to pinkish purple scapes of 24" tall, contrasting weel with the green & yellow foliage below. Sadly it is neither sun tolerant, nor slug resistant. However, it has enough going for it to include it in any good Hosta collection.
