Hosta Yellow River will form a mound of  approximately 55cm-60cm in height, with a spread of up to 100cm. It is a vigorous grower, featuring a large, vase-shaped mound of glossy, dark green, ovate to heart-shaped, deeply veined, pointed leaves with irregular pale-yellow margins. It typically emerges later than most other Hostas. The sturdy 90cm long scapes produce  bell-shaped, almost white flowers from July into August. It forms an impressive mound of sun-tolerant and slug-resistant foliage. This variety has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
