Hosta Yellow River will form a large mound of about 22"-24" in height, with a spread of up to 40", at maturity. A vigorous grower with a large, vase-shaped mound of glossy, dark green, ovate to heart-shaped, deeply veined, pointed leaves of good substance, with irregular pale yellow margins. Makes a superb display in a terracotta pot. Invariably, a majestic Hosta, that no collection should be without. It comes up later than most other Hostas. It has sturdy 36" long scapes bearing racemes of bell-shaped, almost white flowers from July into August. It forms an impressive mound of sun tolerant and slug resistant foliage. Awarded the RHS Award Of Garden Merit.
