Hosta Fragrant Blue forms a mound of 45cm-60cm in height, with a spread of up to 100cm at maturity. It has flat, heart-shaped, powdery blue-green leaves. The leaves exhibit some corrugation and gentle waviness along the margins, with racemes of funnel-shaped, white, fragrant flowers on 270cm scapes appearing in July and August. This Hosta requires minimal care and holds its blue colour well, although it may become blue green to green by late summer, especially if exposed to some direct sunlight. It is cultivated mainly for its foliage, which adds colour, contrast, and texture to the landscape. The dense foliage helps to crowd out most garden weeds and is both slug-resistant and sun-tolerant.
