Hosta Gooseberry Sundae forms an open, upright medium-sized mound reaching 36cm-40cm in height with a spread of up to 60cm at maturity. This plant features a mound of lush green foliage emerging from stunning purple-red stems, adding brightness to shaded borders, pots, and beds. The ovate leaves are large, ribbed, leathery, and slightly waxy. In July, continuing into August, 75cm scapes display elegant sprays of bell-shaped lavender-purple blooms, each measuring 1 inch, which attract butterflies to the landscape. As a sport of Raspberry Sundae, this hardy Hosta is very easy to cultivate. Its colourful stems make it a standout in any shade garden.
