Hosta Plantaginea is grown for its lovely foliage and it's very heavily fragranced white flowers. It is a remarkable Hosta, forming dense upright mounds of lush, glossy, bright green, broadly oval, with parallel viens and quilted surface which will enliven any shady part of the garden. The large clump is elegantly topped in late summer with  some of the largest flowers in the Hosta world, some of which could be 4" long, and considered one of the most fragrant of Hostas around. Magnificent. Opening mainly in the evening, the long, trumpet-shaped, waxy, pure white blossoms rise on long scapes up to 30" long, and are divinely eye-catching. Don’t place in direct sunlight. Not slug resistant but still beautiful. Very easy to grow.
