One of my biggest pleasures in life is showing off my garden. Yes, I am a big show off. A lot of work has gone into the creation and maintenance of the garden, and I am very proud of the result.
Having shown the garden off to thousands of people, over the years, by opening the garden for the National Garden Scheme. Raising thousands of pounds for charity while we were at it.
Not everyone is able to open to the public, and only friends and neighbours every get to see their gardens, even though they are very proud of their spaces. Customers are more than happy to show off their gardens too.
We showcase our customers gardens, regularly in our monthly newsletter and have a dedicated page on our website which is very popular.
We feel that they need even more exposure, hence featuring just a few in this Blog so even more people will see the effort they have made and be inspired with a few ideas they can use in their own gardens. Now is a great time to plan ahead for next year.
Every garden is very different. They range from small space to larger ones, but all using Hostas to show them off. After all, they are all Hosta customers.

Hostas will grow as well in pots as they do when they are planted in the ground. The above example shows this well, with most Hostas being in containers but still having some in the ground in a raised border. Individual Hostas can be highlighted when they get to their best.

The next selection of customers gardens shows Hostas being used in a border mixed with ferns, next to a small stream. Hostas & water go together well. The use of natural dry stone to build the wall allows other plants to be put in the wall.

Having a lawn helps to set off almost any look to a garden. This one has both planted borders and containers. Some of the borders are covered in bark, further enhancing the border, as well as keeping down the weeds. Pots & containers set on hard landscape areas such as decking.

Then you get the enthusiast, who have lots & lots of Hostas. Every available space is used for their wonderful collection. Every inch of the benches, ground and borders is used to display a magnificent collection of Hostas, all shaded with netting. This will take a lot of effort to upkeep, but absolutely worth it. Well done!

Using pots & containers, displayed on rising stands and shelving, as well as on the ground. The beauty of this is all the pots can be moved around to get your favourite plants displayed well.

What about this? Ever seen a Hosta in a Zebra, before. Me neither! The border to be planted was a combination of advice from Rewela Hostas about varieties and where to plant them. These are all ready to go in. A collection displayed on shelving to show them off.

Perhaps you want that ‘jungle look’? Then have a look at this customers garden. What a display! Hosta at different levels using something to raise them above the ground. This is a perfect example of how to show off your Hostas. Brilliant!

Why not use you pet dog to show off your Hostas? This customer requested advice to fill a border and is now ready to plant. Look forward to seeing this border in a year or two.

Even with a small area to use, Hostas can look great when displayed well. Using old fashioned metal stands enhances the Hostas. Or use an old clay container nearby to show it off.

Put a large dramatic Hosta at the front of a long bed encouraging you to move forward to see what is beyond. Large individual containers will reap the benefits once the Hosta gets established. The placement of just one Hosta in a border can bring the border to life particularly a variegated Hosta set against a green background with different shaped foliage.
There are so many ways of using your Hostas in your garden, whether planted or in containers. Try a bit of trial & error. It may not be right first-time round, but keep at it, you will get it how you want. Then you can change it again.
Happy gardening….
