Hosta Captin Kirk will form a medium to large mound of 20"-24" in height with a spread of up to 36" at maturity. It is an impressive, eyecatching Hosta, of rapid growth rate. Hosta Captain Kirk forms an overlapping mound of widely oval, slightly arching, dimpled and strongly veined leaves. Broadly margined bright green, the leaves emerge chartreuse before turning golden yellow then ivory. One of many Star Trek varieties. An improved version of Hosta Gold Standard with much wider, dark green, margins, gold centres & thicker leaves. Pale lavender flowers appear on 30" scapes in July & August. Slug resistant and very sun tolerant. This is one variety that I wouldn't like to be without. Awarded the RHS Award Of Garden Merit.
