Hosta Early Sunrise forms a small mound of about 15cm-20cm in height, with a spread of approximately 30cm at maturity. It is one of the first Hostas to emerge in the year. Hosta Early Sunrise produces a miniature mound of gold-centred, green-margined, wavy foliage with lavender flowers held above the foliage on short 30cm scapes during June and July. The twisted green leaves have a white centre that turns green later in the season. This variety originated from Japan, was named in Holland, and became popular in England. It is well-suited for small containers.
