Hosta Fortunei Aureomarginata forms a medium mound reaching heights of 55cm to 60cm, with a spread of up to 90cm at maturity. It features ovate to heart-shaped, leathery, and distinctly veined deep olive green leaves, irregularly edged in yellow. This variety bears mauve, bell or funnel-shaped flowers on stems up to 90cm tall during July and August. It thrives in both sunny conditions, where the edges will fade to a creamy yellow, and partial shade. This Hosta is characterised by an open yet tidy mound formation and is considered one of the easiest Hostas to cultivate. It is a great variety for starting a collection, being fairly resistant to slugs and tolerant of sun exposure. Additionally, it has received the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
