Hosta Hi-Class will form a medium sized mound of 18"-22" in height, with a spread of up to 38", at maturity. Hosta 'Hi-Class' has incredibly thick leaves, that cup slightly and have a smooth surface. The deep green leaves have a blue cast in the spring, and are edged by a wide, dramatic margin. Reminiscent of a large Hosta 'El Nino', Hosta 'Hi-Class' forms a classy, high-contrast, semi-upright clump that shows off the leaves well. In summer the centre of the leaf becomes dark green and the margins turn white. Looks great until a hard frost in later in the year. Lavender flowers appear on scapes of up to 32" in July, into August. Thick leaves lend it to being slug resistant and sun tolerant, but prefers semi-shade.
