Hosta Purple Verticulated Elf forms a small mound ranging from 20cm to 25cm in height, with a spread of up to 50cm at maturity. From Herb Benedict, the respected Hosta breeder, Hosta Purple Verticulated Elf has an unusual purple bluish cast to its thick, pointy leaves. The colour holds well into the autumn. Considered one of the best small blues of Tardiana heritage. This cultivar is named for its verticillate (whorled) flowering habit. In summer, it produces pale lavender flowers on 36cm scapes, creating an impressive display. The plant is resistant to slugs and tolerant of sun exposure.
