Hosta X Ray forms a spiky mound measuring approximately 25cm-30cm in height, with a spread of up to 45cm at maturity. It produces a low, dense mound of narrow, heavily rippled foliage that is beautifully variegated early in the growing season. The narrow, streaked greenish-white leaves feature a medium green margin, transitioning to entirely green by the end of summer. In August, bright purple flowers bloom on 50cm ivory-coloured scapes, which have purple dots on the variegated leafy bracts. Over time, it establishes into a lovely clump. Due to its slow growth, patience is required. Exposure to some sunlight can enhance the elongation and ripple effect of the leaves, as it exhibits a degree of sun tolerance. Note: Miniature Hostas should be potted in well-draining compost.
