Hosta Bordeaux will form a medium sized mound of 35-40cm in height, with a mature spread of up to 60cm. It has waxy green, heart-shaped leaves of excellent substance, held on dark-red petioles, which extends well up into the leaf. The wax dissipates quickly and the leaves become shiny green.  It is a cross of Hosta One Man's Treasure and Hosta Designer Genes. Both of these being very popular varieties. It has lavender flowers held on scapes of up to 80cm, and flowers in July & August. Grows in sun & shade. Slug resistant. Part of our Special Collection.
