Hosta California Gold Rush forms a large open mound of 22"-26" in height, with a spread of up to 42", at maturity. Leaves emerge chartreuse with a faint green margin. It has a frosted glaucous coating in spring. By summer the centre is a beautiful gold with a nice green margin that jets toward the midrib. Slightly cupped, slightly corrugated, and a gentle waviness. Near white flowers in summer held on scapes of up to 40". Not slug resistant but is sun tolerant.
