Hosta Cool as a Cucumber will slowly form a medium mound of about 26"to 30" in height, with a spread of up to 50" at maturity.  It is a sport from the beautiful old Lachman plant Hosta Cascades. Somewhat similar in appearance, with wider green edges, this form grows quite a bit better than its parent. It has somewhat lanceolate, drooping foliage of a white centre, dark green margins, with paler green darts into the white. A beautiful looking plant, however slow to develop. Flowers appear on 40" scapes, in July and are of near white in colour.
