Hosta First Blush forms a small to medium mound, reaching a height of 25cm-35cm with a spread of up to 55cm at maturity. Its green leaves feature red petioles extending into the leaf blade, accompanied by a thin red margin around the leaf. Notably, in spring, the area between the veins begins to blush red from the tip towards the base, maintaining this colouration for most of the season before eventually fading to green as the leaves fade. Pale purple flowers emerge on scapes up to 50cm tall during July and August. This variety can tolerate early morning and afternoon sun.
