Hosta Carved Complexity will form a large mound of 65-75cm, with a spread of up to 150cm at maturity. It grows into a stately, upright mound, at maturity. It has upright waxy, greenish-yellow leaves with light wavy green margins. It becomes bright gold given a bit more sun. Harold McDonell has been quietly hybridising for years in his Fayetteville, Georgia garden, but only recently have some of his best creations been made available. Hosta Carved Complexity is a substantial plant of greenish-yellow, rounded leaves up to 15" long that emerge in the spring with a waxy finish. The white backed leaves often form domes, each deeply imprinted with veins, and show light puckering with maturity. It has near white flowers from May to July held on scapes of up to 130cm, and grows in sun and shade. Sun tolerant. Part of our Special Collection.
