Hosta Golden Empress will form a small to medium mound of about 10"-12" in height, with a spread of up to 20", at maturity. It has heart- shaped, gold, ribbed, leaves with a slight wave on the edges, with symmetrical, dense, mound of yellow leaves, sporting lavender blooms on 24" scapes above the mound in July to August. This fast growing Bob Kuk hybrid makes a great edging plant with heart-shaped golden leaves. Although one of the later varieties to emerge in spring, it has bright yellow foliage, turning chartreuse by summer. It looks very similar to Hosta Birchwood Parky'y Gold or Hosta Paradise Goldheart. This fast growing Hosta is not sun tolerant or slug resistant.
