Hosta Piedmont Gold will form a medium to large mound of about 18"-24" in height, with a spread of up to 36", at maturity. A hosta with unknown parentage with thick, prominently-veined, broad-oval leaves (6" to 8" long by 6" wide) with cuspidate tips, slightly undulate margins and pinched cordate lobes emerge chartreuse in spring but mature to golden yellow. Funnel-shaped, pale lavender, to nearly white flowers bloom in a terminal raceme in mid to late summer (July-August) atop an upright scape rising well above the foliage to 36" tall. This large, yellow-leaved hosta will help lighten dark and shady landscape areas. This Hosta is usually slug resistant, and very sun tolerant.
