Hosta Piedmont Gold forms a medium to large mound, reaching a height of approximately 45cm-60cm and spreading up to 90cm at maturity. This Hosta, with unknown parentage, features thick, prominently veined, broad-oval leaves that measure 20cm in length by 15cm in width. The leaves possess cuspidate tips, slightly undulate margins, and pinched cordate lobes, emerging chartreuse in spring and maturing to a golden yellow. The plant produces funnel-shaped flowers ranging from pale lavender to nearly white, which bloom in a terminal raceme during mid to late summer (July-August). These flowers are borne atop an upright scape that rises well above the foliage to a height of 90cm. This large, yellow-leaved Hosta is effective in brightening dark and shady landscape areas. Additionally, it is typically resistant to slugs and exhibits considerable tolerance to sunlight.
