Hosta Carl will form a very small to miniature of 6"-10" in height with a spread of up to 26" at maturity. It has blue-green triangular leaves with slight marginal undulations, a compact grower. A very sweet miniature. Fast growing with small blue leaves, similar to 'Blue Cadet' only smaller. Hosta Carl is not grown for it's leaves. They are fairly ordinary, but when it flowers… WOW!   A compact mound with a mass of very tall lavender almost pink 30" long scapes appear in late July and last well into August. Well worth the wait. With the delicate leaves of this Hosta, be careful, and watch out for slugs, and keep in dappled shade.
