Hosta Gooseberry Sundae will form an open, upright medium sized mound of 14"-16" in height with a spread of up to 24", at maturity. A mound of lush, green foliage grows from gorgeous, purple-red stems to brighten shaded borders, pots and beds. Ovate leaves are large, ribbed, leathery and a bit waxy. Come July, lasting into August, 30" scapes hold graceful sprays of bell-shaped, lavender-purple, 1" blooms, attracting butterflies to the landscape. This sport of Raspberry Sundae is hardy and very easy to grow. Colourful stems make this Hosta a shade garden standout. Not known to be slug resistant or sun tolerant.
