Hosta June will form a medium-sized Hosta of 36cm-40cm height with a spread of up to 75cm, at maturity. It features a compact mound of thick, variegated leaves with gold centres and irregular blue-green margins, with bell-shaped, purple flowers on 55cm green scapes from July to August. The leaves are of heavy substance, slug-resistant, and fairly sun-tolerant. It can often look very different depending on how much light or shade it gets. It was named American Hosta Growers Association Hosta Of The Year in 2001,  has received recognition from the American Hosta Society with the Distinguished Merit Hosta award 2009, and received the RHS Award Of Garden Merit.
