Hosta Midwest Magic will form a medium to large mound of 18"-24" in height, with a spread of about 48", at maturity. Here is a new hosta that's going to have everyone talking. Hosta Midwest Magic (possibly a sport of Hosta Sea Dream) has smooth round leaves of dark gold that lighten as the season progresses. The wide border of very dark green provides the perfect contrast. A mutation of Hosta Zounds. The dimpled affect of the leaves almost makes the yellow centre irridescent. Leaves are very pointed. In early summer, the wide clumps are topped with 30" scapes of light purple flowers. Leaves of good substance, enhancing slug resistance. Light shade, so not sun tolerant, and is only partially slug resistant.
