Hosta Niagara Falls develops a substantial upright and arching mound, reaching heights of 60cm-70cm with a spread of up to 135cm at full maturity. It serves as an excellent specimen plant due to its sizable foliage. Niagara Falls features enormous leaves measuring 40cm in length, characterized by a waxy sheen and pie-crusted edges. The deeply impressed veins give the plant a corrugated appearance, adding significant texture to Hosta gardens. This variety pairs well with gold-coloured Hostas. In mid-July, light purple bell-shaped flowers bloom on 120cm scapes. Although this cultivar shows better growth when planted in the ground, growing it in a pot allows the leaves to cascade downward beyond the crown of the plant, creating a striking architectural display. It has been recognized with the RHS Award of Garden Merit and has received recognition from the American Hosta Society with the Distinguished Merit Hosta award 2012.
