Hosta One Man's Treasure is a medium-sized Hosta that typically forms an arching mound approximately 30cm-40cm in height and can spread up to 80cm wide at maturity. This Hosta is particularly noted for its striking, burgundy-spotted leaf petioles, and it also exhibits intriguing burgundy to purple coloration in its leaf bases, flower scapes, flowers, and seed pods. The wide-oval, glossy green leaves with heart-shaped to open bases are complemented by showy petioles. In late summer, bell-shaped violet flowers emerge on leafy, burgundy-red scapes that rise above the foliage mound to a height of 60cm. The resulting seedpods are purple. It has been observed to have good resistance to slugs and may even demonstrate some tolerance to sunlight. Hosta One Man's Treasure and has received recognition from the American Hosta Society with the Distinguished Merit Hosta award 2008.
