Hosta Purple Heart will form a medium-sized mound, reaching a height of 45cm-55cm and a spread of up to 60cm at maturity. This vigorous, clump-forming Hosta features deep maroon stems supporting broadly lance-shaped to ovate, mid-green leaves that are maroon at the base. It is noted for having one of the most neat and uniform growth habits among Hostas. During the summer, sturdy maroon scapes produce bell-shaped purple flowers on 75cm tall scapes. This Hosta is slug resistant and can tolerate some sunlight.
