Hosta Toy Soldier will form a small mound of about 12"-15" in height,with a spread of up to 36", at maturity. It has heart shaped, blue-green to green leaves surrounded by a chartreuse margin changing to creamy yellow. Towards the end of the season a thin cream line appears between the centre and margin, giving it an attractive accent. A sport of Hosta Blue Cadet, with the same vigorous growth rate as its parent and attractive variegation that intensifies as the season progresses. Dense clusters of lavender flowers with purple stripes inside, appear on 32" tall scapes in June & July. Probably not slug resistant nor sun tolerant.RHS Award Of Garden Merit.
