Hosta Bedford Rise & Shine will develop into a compact plant, reaching 20cm-30cm in height with a spread of up to 45cm at maturity. It emerges with deep emerald leaves adorned with a bright gold border, which gradually fade to cream as the season progresses. The red blushing of the petioles further enhances the overall colourful appearance of this remarkable Hosta. It forms a dense clump, making it ideal for borders or pots that receive morning sun but are more shaded in the afternoon. Blue to mid-purple flowers bloom on tall dark green scapes, approximately 70cm in height, from July into August. This Hosta is noted for its slug resistance and partial sun tolerance. It is a fast grower and can be divided every three years or so.
