Hosta Bedford Rise & Shine will form a small plant of 8"-12" in height with a spread of up to 18" at maturity. It emerges with deep emerald leaves embellished with a bright gold border, and as the season progresses the green deepens a little and the gold fades to cream. Red blushing of the petioles add to the overall colourful nature of this gem of a Hosta. Forms a dense clump, ideal for borders or pots that get morning sun but perhaps are shaded a bit more in the afternoon. Blue to mid-purple flowers are held on tall scapes of about 26" tall from July into August. A good slug resistant Hosta with partially sun tolerant properties. A fast grower so can be split every 3 years or so.
