Hosta Brother Stefan forms a medium to large open mound, reaching a height of 50cm-60cm and spreading up to 100cm at maturity. The plant features thick, heavily textured medium green leaves with vibrant golden-yellow centres resembling handprints or maple leaves. In spring, the leaf margins may have a waxy coating that gives a blue appearance, and the centres may appear more chartreuse. The leaves are held almost horizontally. Near-white flowers bloom on 65cm scapes in June and July. This Hosta exhibits moderate growth, particularly in its early stages. It performs best in bright shade or morning sun and demonstrates resistance to slugs. Notably, it was named the American Hosta Growers Association Hosta of the Year in 2017.
