The Hosta German Yellow Dragon forms a medium-sized mound, reaching heights of 38cm-45cm and spreading up to 60cm at maturity. This variety is characterised by its attractive yellow leaves and red stems. It presents an appealing contrast when it blooms, with purple flowers set against its yellow foliage. The firm, wavy golden leaves stand on dark-red petioles. These pointed, lightly rippled leaves are smooth and glossy, emerging in spring as lemon yellow. By late summer, the yellow hue softens although the thick, rubbery foliage remains visually appealing. The robust, 75cm long red scapes display lavender flowers during August. Resembling a dragon poised for flight, the red petioles hold the leaves in a semi-upright mound. This variety is both slug resistant and sun tolerant, making it a dramatic addition to any garden.
