Hosta Paradise Island is a small to medium open mound, 12"-18" tall with a spread of 26"-36". It has lovely heart shaped leaves with a dark green, jetting margin around the edge of the brilliant yellow leaves. Leaves are held on red petioles, and just as with the parent the red comes up into the leaf and the red colouring extends up into the base of the leaves. Lavender flowers are produced on 22" scapes in midsummer. Has proven to be quite vigorous and really performs very well. Makes a fabulous specimen in a pot ! Although not slug resistant it is very good in the sunshine. It holds up extremely well through the season and is more tolerant of different garden conditions compared to its parent.
