Hosta Purple Profusion will form a small sized mound of about 16"-18" in height, with a spread of up to 32", at maturity. The leaves are green to dark green, and are in a tidy mound. However, this Hosta is not grown for its leaves, its grown for its flowers. Although not fragrant, they are dark purple and very floriforous. There are loads of flower spikes on scapes of up to 36". The name is for the profusion of the flowers, not the leaves or the stems. It is not slug resistant but will grow in sun and shade. The more sun, the paler the leaves will be. Give more shade to keep the dark green leaf colour.
