Hosta Whirlwind will form a medium-sized mound reaching 45cm-50cm in height and up to 100cm in width at maturity. Its foliage consists of ovate to heart-shaped leaves that are folded, twisted, and pointed, with creamy white to lime green centres surrounded by broad dark green margins. The leaf centre transitions from creamy white in spring to light green by midsummer. From July to August, funnel-shaped lavender flowers bloom on 60cm long scapes. Hosta Whirlwind is slug resistant and sun tolerant. It has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit and has received recognition from the American Hosta Society with the Distinguished Merit Hosta award 2007.
