Hosta Ben Vernooij forms a medium-sized mound reaching 40cm-45cm in height with a spread of up to 60cm when fully mature. This exceptional sport of Hosta First Frost boasts incredibly thick leaves that are a deep blue with a broad creamy-white margin, maintaining its colour and form until the first frost. Notably, later in the season, the leaves display a thick blue hue with a striking yellow-orange margin. Lavender flowers emerge on 70cm scapes from June to mid-July. This variety is both slug-resistant and sun-tolerant, making it an excellent addition to any garden. It is primarily valued for its leaf colour and substance, with flowers considered secondary.
