Hosta Blue Danube forms a small mound, reaching a height of 15cm-20cm and spreading up to 30cm at maturity. Its rounded blue-green leaves retain their colour well into late summer, featuring a soft blue leathery texture and good symmetry. In July and August, it produces scapes up to 60cm tall with lavender flowers. The leaves have a thick substance, making them resistant to slugs. To maintain the blue foliage, it is advisable to provide ample shade and avoid exposure to midday sun.
