Hosta Frisian Waving Steel forms a medium mound ranging from 40cm-45cm in height, with a spread reaching up to 105cm at full maturity. This plant features exceptionally thick blue-green leaves with dramatically rippled edges and wavy margins supported by red petioles. The leaves arch gracefully over in a compact mound, highlighting the distinct beauty of each leaf. Its genetic heritage suggests it will retain its vibrant colour until the onset of frost in autumn. In late July through August, lavender flowers appear on scapes that can reach up to 75cm. The thick foliage makes this variety resistant to slugs and relatively tolerant to sun exposure, although it should be shielded from midday sun.
