Hosta Lunar Orbit will form a medium to large mound of about 16"-22" in height, with a spread of up to 40", at maturity. It is a sport of  Hosta August Moon, but with an added dark green margin. Leaves emerge chartreuse in spring but quickly turn yellow with a green margin. Leaves are solid light green in spring, then turn deep yellow in early summer and develop dark green, streaked margins. They are of somewhat leathery substance and rugose, making them slug resistant. Can handle some sun where it will develop the best colour. In deep shade the leaf centre will be more chartreuse. Large, flared, violet blossoms appear on 36" scapes over a long period from early to midsummer. A vigorous grower
