Hosta Love Pat features heavily corrugated and deeply cupped blue leaves, forming a medium to large mound that reaches 36cm-45cm in height, with a spread of up to 75cm at maturity. The leaves emerge in spring with a substantial wax coating, giving them a bright blue hue, which transitions to blue green by late summer. The undersides of the leaves are white, visible on some due to the pronounced cupping. As a Tokudama type, the leaves are thick and quilted, providing excellent resistance to slugs and tolerance to sunlight. Hosta Love Pat is highly regarded and is an essential addition to any collection. White flowers on 55cm scapes appear in early summer, offering a striking contrast to the foliage. It has been honoured with the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
