Hosta Sea Dream will form an open, medium to large mound, of about 21"-24" in height, with a spread of up to 40", at maturity.  A quick growing variety whose leaves are lovely, but of a slightly thin texture requiring a little protection. They emerge a fresh apple green, but soon become a bright yellow with a narrow white margin. The texture is very well seersuckered, with the effect greatly enhanced by green staining in the recesses. In Spring the leaves come out of really red buds. Similar to Saint Elmo’s Fire, whose leaves are even more seersuckered. Pale lavender flowers work well against the yellow leaves held on scapes of up to 36" tall. Best in light shade. Not slug resistant.
