The Hosta Chinese Sunrise forms a small to medium mound, reaching a height of 40cm-45cm, with a spread of up to 100cm at maturity. Its narrow, glossy leaves initially present a gold centre with a green edge, transitioning to light green with a dark green margin, and ultimately turning all green by late summer. This variety is robust and aesthetically pleasing. In August, deep purple flowers emerge on scapes up to 70cm tall, creating a striking contrast with the pale green foliage. It is one of the earliest Hostas to sprout in spring and can tolerate a moderate amount of sunlight.
