Hosta Chinese Sunrise will form a small to medium mound of 16"-18" in height, with a spread of up to 40" at maturity. It has narrow, glossy leaves that start out gold centered with a green edge, change to light green with a dark green margin, then all green by late summer. A good grower and beautiful variety. Deep purple flowers, contrasting well with the pale green foliage, appear on scapes of up to 28", in August. One of the first Hostas to come up in the spring. Not slug resistant but does tolerate a fair bit of sun.
